A girl lies in her bed at night crying. Every night it’s the same thing, “God why doesn’t anyone love me?” “Why did you create me if I am so unlovable?”
The Father, in His quiet way, places His loving arms around the girl so that His Hand is in perfect position to capture her tears as He shares how precious she is to Him (Jeremiah 31:3.) He places them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8) preparing for the day that He will wipe every tear from her eyes (Revelation 7:17).
A man lies in a prison cell wide awake through the night asking “God, when will this nightmare end? Where are You in this place?"
The Spirit whispers “Son, I am with you always (Matthew 28:20), dwell in Me and allow Me to be your refuge and fortress. You can trust Me with Your life, I will be with you in trouble, will deliver you and honor you (Psalm 91.)"
A mom in mourning screams at the top of her lungs over the loss of her child. “God why? Why did you give me this child and then take him away from me?”
The One who knew her child in her womb, lovingly near to her broken heart (Psalm 34:18), weeps with her, gently sharing in her pain (John 3:16). He delivers a beautiful mourning dove to bless her with His Perfect Peace.
The diagnosis breaks a young woman in two, “Lord, who will take care of my children? Please let me live to see them grow.”
Her Creator holds her in His right Hand (Psalm 73) promising a hope and a future for her and her children as part of His Perfect Plan (Jeremiah 29:11.)
Is this your story?
We live in a broken world and are not shielded from pain and sorrow. BUT we have a Savior who lives! 2000 years ago, Jesus took on flesh to walk with us, live among us, teach us how to live and how to love. To BE the perfect Sacrifice for US.
But the story doesn't end there . . .
Jesus reminds us that He is here to comfort us through every challenge that we face.
WHY? John 3:16 and Revelation 21 reveals a Father's Heart:
"For God SO LOVED the world...." and “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.”
This is God’s desire, to love us, to know us, to dwell with us.
OUR PEACE CAN BE FOUND IN HIM!
On this Good Friday, I celebrate the One who left Heaven to walk among His creation.
I thank Jesus that He loved me so much and called me worth His Love.
I thank Jesus that He captures my tears and will one day wipe every tear from my eyes.
I thank Jesus that He is with me and my son always, holding us by His Right Hand as our refuge and fortress.
I thank Jesus that He too knows the pain of loss and holds me in my own.
I thank Jesus that one day He will dwell among us again, there will be no pain, no sorrow, no tears, only peace.
This is The Greatest Gift of all . . .
Jesus, thank You for coming to earth, for walking among us, loving us and blessing us with eternal life. As we remember the death which took on the sins of the world we celebrate Your resurrection which allows us Glory with You! I pray Lord that You will draw us near and help us to see the beautiful gift that You have bestowed on Your creation. I pray that we will all draw near to the One who loved us first, the One who holds us in His living Hand through our challenge, the One who will dwell with us for eternity.
Happy Resurrection Day Jesus!
In Your Precious Name we thank You,
AMEN
